01 PMEGP The PMEGP (Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme) is a government scheme in India aimed at promoting self-employment by helping set up new micro enterprises, especially in rural and urban areas. ·         The nodal agency is KVIC (Khadi & Village Industries Commission) at the national level. On state level, it’s implemented through State KVIC Directorates, State Khadi & Village Industries Boards (KVIBs), District Industries Centres (DICs), and banks. India Government+2nimsme.gov.in+2

·         It started in 2008‑09 by merging two earlier schemes: PMRY (Prime Minister’s Rojgar Yojana) and REGP (Rural Employment Generation Programme).

It is a centrally sponsored scheme which aims to generate employment among the un-employed youth of District Bandipora.Subsidy upto 35% and 25% in rural and urban areas respectively is being provided to the beneficiaries

 Any individual above 18 years of age, having some ability in manufacturing and servicing sectors and having Minimum qualification of 8th standard. 02 JKREGP The JKREGP (Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme) is a credit-linked subsidy program aimed at creating employment opportunities by promoting micro and village industries in rural  areas of the Jammu and Kashmir state, leveraging youth entrepreneurship and supporting self-employment ventures through bank finance. Implemented by the J&K KHADI AND VILLAGE INDUSTRIES BOARD (JKKVIB) , it provides financial assistance through margin money (subsidy) and bank loans to individuals above 18 years of age to establish new, viable micro-enterprises. 

The Village/Micro Industrial Sector, production, processing and packaging of agricultural / horticultural products, Service Sector like transport, health care, construction related service activities etc. are the few sectors which offer the potential for sustainable industrial development and Employment Generation in the state of J&K. There is an urgent need to catalyze and invigorate the Village Industries & Micro Industrial Sector of the state in the back drop of rampant unemployment levels prevailing in the state.
