Urban Local Bodies Kashmir (Municipal Committee Hajin)

The Municipal Committee Hajin is an important local self-government institution established under the Jammu & Kashmir Municipal Act. It is responsible for the civic administration, development, and governance of Hajin town, which is located in the Bandipora district of Jammu & Kashmir. The committee plays a pivotal role in ensuring proper urban planning, sanitation, provision of essential services, and implementation of government schemes aimed at improving the quality of life of the residents.

The primary functions of the Municipal Committee Hajin include maintenance of public infrastructure such as roads, street lighting, water supply, and drainage systems, as well as regulation of building construction, collection of local taxes, and management of solid waste. It also acts as a key platform for local representation, where elected councillors address the concerns of the public and work towards the socio-economic development of the town.

2 PM SVANidhi The PM SVANidhi scheme is a central sector micro-credit initiative by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) that provides collateral-free working capital loans to street vendors. Key components include a first loan of up to ₹10,000, with higher subsequent loans of ₹20,000 and ₹50,000, an interest subsidy of 7% on timely repayment, and a cashback incentive for digital transactions to promote financial inclusion and formalize the street vendor sector.  To be eligible for the PM SVANidhi Yojana, you must be a street vendor operating in an urban local body (ULB) and possess a Certificate of Vending (CoV)/Identity Card (ID), or a Letter of Recommendation (LoR) from the ULB/Town Vending Committee (TVC) if you were left out of the survey or started vending after it concluded. Eligibility also extends to vendors from peri-urban/rural areas vending within ULB limits, provided they have an LoR o apply for the PM SVANidhi scheme, visit the official portal, pmsvanidhi.mohua.gov.in, and submit an online application with your basic details, vendor category, and a mandatory Survey Reference Number (SRN). You will then need to upload supporting documents, such as your Aadhaar and bank account details, and await approval and loan disbursal. pmsvanidhi.mohua.gov.in, 84
