Urban Local Bodies Kashmir (Municipal Committee Sumbal)

The Department Urban Local Bodies Kashmir is functioning under the administrative control of Housing & Urban Development Department in the Kashmir Valley and is Comprising of 40 Municipal Committees which are established at different Locations /Districts.sub- Districts/ Telsil Head quarters of Kashmir province. The Municipal Committee Sumbal Is among 40 Municipal Committees Functioning in the Kashmir Valley . The  Town is located at distance of 24 kmr’s in the north west of Srinagar city center. Though, the boarders of town Sumbal almost touch with the boarders of Municipal Corporation Srinagar at Mujgund but still the town bears a unique importance from Political, Geographical, economical and Geological point of view. Which makes Sumbal town a unique town in entire state? The town with administrative seat of district Bandipora is not only enrooted Gurez and Baltal but is in center to the tourist places Mansbal Lake, Walur Lake, and Wet lands. The maximum Pilgrims tourists to Amarnath Ji Shrine and Mata Kheerbawani Ji tulmulla adopt the root via Sumbal to visit the Cave and Shrine. The most unique feature of the town is River Jhelum carrying clean water and sand which is source of lively hood to thousand of the people.The Municipal Committee Sumbal Is comprising of 13 wards havin ftotal population of 13844/ comprising of 2129 house holds as per census 2011
